My idea for the A to Z Challenge

I’ve mentioned the A to Z blogging challenge a couple of times already, and linked it to in my sidebar. Since I also need to do an official post with links to the challenge pages, I thought I would share my A to Z plan. It’s tentative at the moment, and we all know how perilous long term plans for blogs can be, but I think this is easy and it will work. It will give me a lot of original content for April, and it might even turn into something useful.

I decided to participate as The Writing Catalog because I want to use this challenge to meet other people who blog about writing, and because this blog is the one that needs the most improvement. The idea of the challenge is to blog about a topic per day, six days per week, beginning with the first letter of the alphabet, and short posts are recommended.

I’ve decided to make my posts literacy-themed, so all my topics will be writing or reading concepts. If I can find enough art, I’ll illustrate each post with a meme. What you’ll see in April here, if I can pull this together, is a daily 150- to 300-word post about writing with some humorous art to go along with it. Day 1 might be “Audience,” Day 2 “Biography,” Day 3 “Characterization,” etc. I’ll collect them all on an index page as I go, and by the end I’ll have the beginning of a very nice resource.

What do you think about that? Sound like a good idea?

I’m thrilled about the challenge because so many bloggers are participating, and it won’t be difficult to have some interesting posts ready to go by the time it starts.
