If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m having social media withdrawal, but I had a stellar week offline. I have this job I’ve been struggling to get a handle on since October — almost from the moment Diana, Jeremy, and I threw in together and started the blogs. I got a handle on it this week. I shone, and I put myself in a position to keep shining.
The price of that was neglecting my online life since Tuesday, and it’s looking like I have another week of the same. The price is totally worth it, but I am a little concerned that a lot of the people who have been following me for most of a year will think I am withdrawing. I am not withdrawing, I’m just busy helping people get through school.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I had a birthday this week, and it’s one of those lackluster numbers that doesn’t mean much. Not like turning 30, or 23, or 50. I survived another year, and my family gave me a whole new wardrobe with work in mind, because I really don’t spend money on myself these days. It was a sweet, happy day.
I’d tell you I am not doing the linkup thing this week, but you are welcome to drop a link to your coffee post on this thread.
I’d tell you I don’t know where these blogs are going, and even though my social media strategy is pretty good, it requires time and attention I don’t have at the moment. I really need an administrative assistant or a surrogate to maintain my presence at this point. And that’s all I’d say.
Except to ask you what you’ve been up to lately.
Finding your groove at work is important — glad it’s going well!
I have a feeling when our semester starts up (beginning of October) my own social-media life will slow down considerably — for my part I expect the blogs/people that I follow to have ebbs-and-flows. Especially those who work within academia in some way!

I’d tell you I’m trying to refocus on my own online interactions while juggling everything else.

Blogging has to take a backseat sometimes while we tend to more important things in life: work, kids, ourselves… I have found this to be one of the beauties and advantages of blogging as well, the possibility of putting our work on hold for a bit, unlike most other things. The hard part is trying not to worry about it I suppose!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that it sounds like you’re in a pretty happy place right now. Glad to hear you are “shining” and hope that light keeps on burning brightly!
I’d tell you that birthdays are very important occasions – if only to remind us that we survived another journey around the sun – complete with all its dangers and drama. For that we should celebrate and I’m glad yours was a happy one.
I’d tell you that I’ve been feeling particularly lazy the past couple of days which is usually a harbinger that change is coming. Happy September!!

Happy belated birthday! I haven’t had much time for blogging and social media either. My day job is taking up more and more of my free time and I fear this week will be worse. The price isn’t worth it for me, I like writing more than I like my job, glad it is for you though. Sometimes blogging just has to wait while we handle real life. Good luck to you 🙂

Glad work is going well!
(And I just turned 23, and it wasn’t all that big of a milestone either, lol.)
