Weekend Coffee Share: Post-Easter Edition

If we were having coffee, I’d be a little later than usual because I just had a Google meetup with several of the admins from 1000 Voices Speak for Compassion. It was nice to be able to talk to so many of the bloggers I’ve been chatting with since January via video. We bounced around ideas, and just in general, had a very pleasant and productive conversation.

I’d tell you I had a great Easter Weekend. I spent lots of time with my family and we celebrated the Little Jedi’s birthday on Saturday. I got some awesome new social media profile images and page art courtesy of my friend Cat of Thru Cat’s Eyes Photography.

Here’s the first of several new images you’ll be seeing over the next few weeks on my various social media profiles. This one’s going on the about page here if I ever have time to do the much-needed revamp of my pages and categories here. That’s my sister Diana of Part Time Monster there with me.

And I’d tell you the A to Z Challenge is going well.  We’re down to only a handful of posts to load and finish at Sourcerer, and we’ve had a fabulous time with A to Z over there. I’ve not done as many visits this week as I’d like, because I had a busy week at work and was sick for a few days late in the week. I’m hoping to catch up on visits from the list today.

I’d ask you how your week has been, and chat for a little while until we caught up. Then I’d have to run, because I’m not going to have a lot of Internet time this week or next weekend, so I have a ton of stuff to take care of to get the blogs and all the social media associated with them squared away for the next 10 or so days.

Happy Weekend! Don’t forget to add your coffee post to the linkup, and share it to #weekendcoffeeshare if you share your posts on Facebook or Twitter.

  1. 🙂 the pic is really nice. My own A to Z posts scheduling is going well. I’m scheduled up until T, just a few more to go. This is a bit of a learning curve for me. As I’m reading other blogs I see what works and what doesn’t. I think my Geeky theme for next year will do better (than the Poetry and Shakespeare I’ve got going this year) and since I’ve already decided on it, I can start writing them all, and just relax when April 2016 rolls round.

    • Yeah. That’s my goal, too. Have 26 posts ready to go by like New Year’s Day next year. The pic turned out nice, and we made a ton of them specifically for my social media. We’re using it as a way of marketing the photo studio without actually pimping for it. And of course, photos of that quality for profile art are valuable to me. One of those win-win situations.

  2. I should have the other photos in-hand tomorrow and uploaded by tomorrow evening or Monday. 🙂

I’ll be offline this afternoon for tattoo-getting time, but then I’ll be back around.

    • Yay! Good, good. I can’t wait to see them, but I am going to dole them out over several weeks and use them for things like Facebook profile changes before I start using them on the blog. Will be good to have them in hand, though.

  3. Great photo, looking forward to the rest. Glad you’ve recuperated. And WOW, it amazes me at all the flaming balls you keep in the air 🙂 Let me know know when things settle down and you want to talk about IFTTT (now known as IF) Have a great week!

  4. The photography is great, and congrats on finishing up the posts for A-Z! I would tell you that between an overnight trip, a houseguest for four days, and a start to a new school year (April is the first week in Japan), I was worried I wouldn’t make it through my reading lists…. somehow, I managed!

I’m pretty happy with this year’s results. I still haven’t added anyone since #700, which means I’m missing out on half the list, and that’s unfortunate… but I think I’ll slowly add more people over the rest of the year from there if their blogs align with the interests of mine, to continue slowly building my network.

I’ve also been really happy with the lower rate of “post and run” commentors this year. Last year I seemed to get a lot of blanket comments that were posted on other blogs as well (Cool! Inspiring post! 🙂 – John Doe from ABC Blog,) and that’s been especially encouraging. 🙂

    • Yes, the quality of my comments has been better this year too, I think. I’m way behind on the reading of new blogs. I’ve had family stuff three weekends in a row now, which is nothing to complain about, really, but haven’t been able to be on the Internet as much as usual, and the weekends are typically when I do my heavy browsing.

I may do the A to Z Road Trip this year, if they do that one again. Certainly, I will not stop visiting the list once April is over. I never came back to it last year, and it stayed up all year. I think that was probably a mistake. I could have been finding blogs from it all year, two and three a week.

  5. Great photo of both of you! can’t wait to see the rest floating around either. Thanks for the coffee, really enjoying the A to Z even if it’s a little hectic, it’s keeping me busy and I like that. Glad you’re feeling better and hope you continue to do so. Thanks for the coffee, as always, and have a great week ahead! Paula

    • It was cool. It was the first one I’d every done, and I enjoyed it. Nice to see you back in circulation 🙂 Hope your offline thing was good for you.
